Chroming

Post by Milky »

Ok, I need a CONTACTS/WEBSITES etc for chroming in/around Devon that will do a good job for a low price if such a thing.

I have two BSA Bantam rims ready to be chromed, no spokes or hubs just the rims, all sandblasted and ready, what sort of rough price am I looking around? £50? £100? Avnt gotta clue

Cheers.

Google Griffs reality motor works in Bristol, they are able to chrome motorcycle stuff and specialise in motorcycle finishing, sandblasted may end up being more expensive as stuff generally has to be polished prior to chroming, so will need to be polished first then usually copper plated then nickel plated before finally being chromed.

New rims might be cheaper.

Probably would work out cheaper to get new rims as you've had them blasted it adds to the expense because the polishing will take much longer, and may not be possible as the material may become too thin.

Reality don't do chroming, they've given me another number to a company in North Bristol that do it, they told me the same about the sand blating so i've got the guy thats blasting them to stop (luckily he hadn't began yet)! Just waiting for a quote from them, if it works out cheaper to buy new rims then i'll be doing that..
