Post by Marty636 »

ive just seen a blue r1 for sale not really sure of the millage or the age (either 2000 or 2002 was just looking quicky whilst waiting for my bike) its up 4 sale at £2700 (looks in G C) and i corrently have a green zx6r 56 plate with a akrapovic end can,db screen, racing levers, road angel, angel lights,HIDS,rear seat cover, bulit in indicators in the rear light, front n back crash bungs, green chain n green rear hugger plus front and rear moto grafix sticker.
The only down side is ive done 31,000 miles but ive had all the services done like clock work and i have had it since new and its been very looked after., ive never owned a yammy or riden a 1000cc.

slightly off topic but is ur bike pic up on here yet...sounds like a monster with more accessories than bike! lol just curious what one looks like with green chain and rear hugger...

Would suggest test riding the R1 before you even think about it as, although i have not ridden one myself they are fairly track orientated machines and if you are doing the mileage you are doing, at a guess would have said it might not be the most comfortable on a commute

But thats just my 2 pence worth and doesnt count for much as havent ridden either

636 is more track orientated than a earlyish R1. You kinda sit in the R1, whereas you're perched on top of the 636, plus they're a much more sold ride. It'll have another 20-30BHP, plus a shed load more mid range. Shame they're mostly girls bikes.

I'd keep the ZX6, new bike you have lots of goodies on it too. Why downgrade for the sake of a few extra CC's? I bet the HP difference wouldn't be too much either...
