Re: Insurance: Fully Comp vs TPF&T
isnt there two types of gap insurance
one that covers the cost of your bikes value now against its purchase price
and a gap cover that covers the difference of the bikes value and the outstanding finance balance
quite a big difference in policys in some cases so check which gap cover you have as some places wont tell you the difference

I will now state the ferkin obvious for those that havent claimed and may not know.
Ok, Scenario, Im 27 ride a firestorm, tpft - £700 FC - £1200........ooooh FC is expensive I will have tpft for my 2k value bike. £700 to Bumnetts.........3 weeks later you have a little slide and bump on some farmers mud which he had placed on some wet leaves which the council left ontop of some diesel which the farmer left........bent frame twisted swingarm, fairing, bars, ......WRITE OFF.......NO BIKE £700 DOWN THE PAN THATS IT. Now remember you have no insurance cos as soon as you claim that policy is now finshed and you need another one to continue riding, so you go out to buy a bike.......a 2k firestorm........get a quote .....£1000 tpft.....£1750 FC.....so to continue riding at tpft its going to cost you another 2k for the bike plus increased premium cos you claimed so thats another £1000, so all in all from the start of the premium to being insured on bike 2 tpft the total is £5700
GET FC WITH PROTECTED NC........YOU CANT BUY PIECE OF MIND, it may cost more but it will cost you more if you dont, and my insurance I get 2 weeks hire bike free if any accident my fault or not, full RAC recovery, extended legal, leathers and helmet cover FC on my firestorm for £250 from MCE. I was the real Scenario example it hurt...alot.
