SV - Trackbike for £1000
Right the plan has always been to track the SV in July this year however have been offered a really good deal on a BOS pipe for £150 quid my question is what you guys would do with £1000 to track my bike and therefore should I buy the BOS pipe as it will carry over to trackday lovlieness or would i need to replace it anyway and basically buy a pipe for 6 months worth of noise =D

Should still be quiet enough for most tracks, especially with a DB killer assuming it isnt some kind to MotoGP can.
You shouldn't need £1000 to convert the bike, unless you're planning on upgrading the suspension/brakes aswell. Buy some track fairings and you're sorted.

My concern was that on the basis thats its a cheap can whether or not it would b good enough for track use...

Unless you're going for a premium brand full system, then any race can is pretty much the same performance wise. Cheaper cans may blow out the wadding quicker but wont be a issue for a long time yet.

Which SV? A later K series radial brake front end and radial mastercylinder will fit with little effort, a better rear shock, a decent filter and pipe, a power commander to get it mapped properly. The some race plastics and some crash bungs/fork/swingarm protectors, shorty of fold up levers. You should be able to source that lot for about a grand via shitebay.

It just needs a decent filter, pipe and PC, plus the fairing & bobbins as it's been crashed already. I told him you wouldn't need more than about £600 in all honesty, I listed these items when he asked me 6 months ago!jam wrote:Which SV? If thats the case, then you've got £400 in the bank for track time, bonusStikley wrote:It just needs a decent filter, pipe and PC, plus the fairing & bobbins as it's been crashed already.
