Right if you want an intense course you can put these suggestions all together. Leave exeter head for Cruditon then winkleigh then torrington too bideford then down the 39 to bude/ camelford/wadebridge head back too bodmin take the 38 up the glynn valley to plymouth, you can stop for a bite at Capn jaspers then if you want, head out of p[lymouth Via kingsbridge, too totnes, newton scabbot, and then if you are pissed off with going around corners take the A380 to exter, if not Teignmouth , Starcross. powderham, exeter
If you need another route for after breakfast ask and i will suggest one

My favourite stretch of road is only short but it's fantastic fun.

A372 from Langport to Bridgwater. There's a little section from Aller to Othery which is sheer pleasure - I usually have to stop, go back and ride it again !

Saying that, the A372 from Podimore ( A303 ) all the way to Bridgwater is actually quite a nice piece of road.

Yep, that's the one. Whoever built that section must have been a motorcyclist !

Just before 7 bends coming from Langport there's a lovely left hander. However, there are also a couple of farm entrances on the bend so it pays to recce the corner first !

Just thought of another fantastic stretch of road but it may be a bit far away for some of you guys but would make a great ride out.

Head up the M5 come off at Jnct 18 ( Avonmouth ) Head up the A403( awesome & fast road ) to the Old Severn Bridge. Cross the bridge ( it's free for bikes ), Off at Chepstow and head towards Monmouth. As you drop down the hill just before Chepstow racecourse you turn left at the roundabout onto the B4293. This is an amazing stretch all the way to Monmouth. The final drop into Monmouth is spectacular with a couple of challenging bends ! Plenty of places to eat & drink in Monmouth. Then head out of Monmouth on the A466 which is another great stretch of road. At Wormelow Tump you can turn right onto the B4348 and join the A49 heading south. Right onto the A4137 then onto the A40. At Monmouth turn right onto the A466 which takes you down the Wye Valley past Tintern ( busy at weekends ) Nice stop off ( usually a few bikes ) off at Tintern Station.
Back over the old Severn Bridge.

Richie, do the Chepstow - Abergavenny road via Usk, one of my favs that one is....after that, go thru Aber...then turn off for Pengenfford, awesome stretch!!

7 bends is wicked, but I prefer doing it from one end as opposed to the other (oo er!) the corners open up and you can carry more speed thru them! Short section but great fun if you get it to yourself ;) (Lovely pic Rich!)

The road from Bude to Camelford to Wadebridge is a nice road too but that all depends on if you wanna venture down into Cornwall!
a nice road indeed! thanks beth! :)
