The best tips if using a hole saw are to mark up carefully and start with small pilot holes as already described, and run the drill backwards so the cutter goes through really gently and doesn't snatch at the plastic. Same applies if drilling screw holes in plastic number plates or fairing screens, drill turning backwards reduces snatching and subsequent splitting of the material.
