Deej is still in bed having wet dreams about it,
fraid it does not get me over excited having memories of the old seventies 6 volt idiosyncratic unreliable italian rotboxes

It just doesn't look right, what it'll look like with a 6ft 18stone rider on I'd hate to think (not Deej - he ain't 6ft).

Wheels look out of proportion, tank too small, fairing looks like it has bits missing, comedy tail end (does not 'balance' the front). Rear exhaust looping around in fresh air and shock hanging off the side, hardly a thing of beauty.

Probably will wipe the floor in WSB and Superstocks though - but isn't Checa still using the current bike next year?

I admit it ain't no oil painting, but personally I like that,it looks like it designed to go fast and do its job on track, not grace the dining rooms of the rich and famous and never turn a wheel in anger. Unfortunately the price will put it in that bracket

But I have to say the tank does look ridiculously small, like a tortoise humping the airbox :)) :)) :))

I am 6ft but not quite 18st,maybe with leathers on i might be, my problem is i cant afford it yet would love to have one, maybe one day !!!

pricewise the base model is cheap in this day and age, £1800 cheaper than a V4 and a grand cheaper than a S1000RR and almost the same as list price of a R1

Are you sure that's not a photoshop creation? Tail unit from and Aprilia RSV4, exhaust from an ER-6.... :))

Looks like yet another Ducati that won't do 100 miles to a tank of fuel... x_x

But, because there's a Rossi connection of sorts, More Crap than News will be spunking themselves into a frenzy over it... I picked up from elsewhere on-line recently that it wasn't behaving as well as they'd wanted, hence won't be run in Superbikes next year. Has Checa actually re-signed for Althea yet, or is he going elsewhere, does anyone know? :-??

Checa has re-signed to Althea for 2012, think it was signed the day after the season ended but he may regret that with the new weight limit changes, i see Chaz Davies had signed for Parkin n go to ride a ducati next year yet theyve been testing a aprilia v4 this last week

Base V4's are about £14500/£16500 for the factory but surely you would compare the factory to the "S"?
S1000RR sports are £13310 OTR according to the Motorrad site and nobody pays list price for R1's do they?( Not whilst George Whites are selling them for £8995 anyway!)

the R1 lists at £13600 but if GW are doing them at 8995 then i dont expect too many are being sold at the list price,if at all :D :D :D

Im sure the 1199 will be a good seller regardless of the price, its the first modern sportsbike ive really wanted for a long time. just a shame i dont have the cash for one

Gw's had something like 125 R1's at £8995 to get rid of and something like 150 FZ8s at £5995.Takes away some of the initial deprieciation thats for sure! I'm sure Ducati have got a bulging order book and won't be discounting anytime soon. Its not my sort of bike anyway but it does push the game on forward again and will give something for the others to think about. There was talk of them do another limited run of a bike like the Desmo but at £80k instead of the £40k or so.. They were confident they would sell them all at that price too.
Did someone mention a MCN 1199 wankfest?. Best not buy this weeks edition then! About 24 pages I think it was.
