old devon bike pics

Post by Mervin »

Back in the seventies and 80,s there was a bloke riding a bike (possibly BSA Bantam) around north devon taking loads of black and white pics, a few of the pics have been digitally archived (about 1700 ) I think and are searchable I found them this morning when looking for a picture of Les Smales bike shop the first of the pics i think is James Raviliouses Bantam with a yoof looking at it in les,s shop

Great find Mervin, now you've baited the hook how about a few more - or the link to the remaining 1688 pics :D

I recall Les really wasn't interested in you unless you had a Yam or you wanted to spend loads, Godfrey Sampson on the other hand was a bit more friendly - when he put in a rare appearance.

Never met Godfrey Sampson, always saw Louie, I saws Louie last about 10 years ago in Sainsburys cafe Barnstaple , he was looking very old and frail though
