Budget biking

Post by Cheese Monkey »

Hey guys, anyone remember me?

I'll be home in September and I've got a dilemma. It's keeping me awake at night! I need to save cash when I get back, big time. But I also love my fuel guzzling beast, bandit 1200. Do I keep it, or flog it and buy a 250 or some other abuser thats dirt cheap to run. I expect I should get about £1000 for the bandit with no MOT, which should pay for something small and insurance etc. Or I should I make her road worthy again and suck up the fuel bill, insurance etc with a manic grin on my face at every set of lights. Mostly for commuting and occasional Plymouth - Bristol trips. Ride outs are going to be a rarity :(

Talking JSA budget here (initially). Although the plus side is barely any garage costs with plenty of free time myself lol. The bike needs valves done, some electrics, an exhaust, a numberplate and a top box. Budget = £0. A car is completely out of the question. Which is a kind of weird relief.

It's a head vs heart thing I think, I could do with some opinions on the subject!

If anyones interested, we'll be off to Vietnam soon, going to buy a Honda Win and ride it from the South to the North.

Much love

Cheese

Pushbikes are for losers. So yeah I'll probably end up buying/acquiring one

It's about time I help give cyclists a bad name. Done more than my fair share for bikers

Hello mate, glad you are still alive. Sell the bandit, the way fuel prices are going over here a full tank will double the value of the bike and make you a target for mugger type persons.
