I decided if I was going to do it I want to make sure I was bloody warm. The kit I bought was great it was just my hands I had a problem with. I tried mitten gloves but still no good, even handle bar muffs. They just make you look like a div and press against the brake lever at higher speeds. In the end I opted for heated gloves. Much better than heated grips, as they heat the back of your hand down to the finger tips. Warm as toast. They have a little quick release connecter to allow you to get off and on the bike.

There's been a couple times where I'd like to get heated grips. My gloves usually keep me pretty warm although I do like the idea of heated gloves. The ones I've seen cost a little bit of money which is holding me back. I guess if I find a good deal, I might bite and get some. Do they numb the hands if they get too warm?

Actually i am put off by the fact that i have to park my bike a couple hundred yards from my house on a main road. I suspect the heated grip attachments may not still be there in the morning..... Maybe heated gloves is the way to go. i think my winter gloves may be rubbish anyway, i only commute about 15 mins and my hands have pretty much fallen to pieces this winter!

tbh falcon if you have got to March without heated grips, then job done!

Its only gonna get warmer from here on. Wait for couple more months then look for discounted winter gloves in the summer sales ;) ;) .

Hot Hands

Post by DaveH »

Whilst it looks like it is going to be dry it is still a bit chilly for the Friendly tomorrow - so yesterday I ordered a set of these for delivery this morning (fantastic service if they arrive as promised). They seem like a good idea as I'll use them rarely and I can swap them from bike to bike.

I hope they do the job!

Yes they did - but it has been so warm today! If it is going to be like this tomorrow I don't think I'll need them!

Yes, I didn't bother with them in the end. Thought I'd risk it and I was fine even with my summer gloves on. I think I'll hang-on to the Hot Hands though just in case - I can see they'll come in useful in the future :)
