MOT Fail

Post by sckudder »

:cry: yes took my bike to be mot'd today and she failed. Not surprised as the rear tyre tred was low and didn't have a reflector on the back of the bike but she also failed on her front brakes so now need to try and source some front disc but not sure if I need one or two yet will find out tomorrow. But if anyone know of any about for a k6-7 GSX-R 750 would be very great full even to borrow just so I can get it mot'd.
Thanks

Did ther disc's fail on min thickness? if so cleaning them will only make them thinner, you've just washed off a couple of mill of crud :D .

On a serious'er note, ebay used to be pretty good for good condition second hand discs, since aftermarket fancy wavey or flamey ones are often bought to flash up yer Gix and selling on the originals to try to recoup the cost B-) .

another little tip - if they're floating discs, tap all the buttons with a soft faced or rubber mallet ..... they sometimes get a little "sticky" giving the impression of a warped disc .... :wink:

i did this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qoPqN2GBdw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

next to no vibration now its strang but its only when your up near motorway speed that there is a little pulse but bring the brake lever in a couple mm more in then there is nothing is all smooth

so hope they should go through the mot now as one of the disc was locked solid

Just wondering how many people clean there brake bobbins ?
