Raced at Oulton last Saturday.
Didn't enter until Saturday morning so I was 3rd reserve and didn’t get on the grid in this class until the afternoon race. So as I didn’t have a qualifying time, had to start from the back of the grid. Not a bad thing as makes for an interesting race. Caught 3rd and 4th places in my class (FJ1100 & R1) just before the end but the race was shorted by a lap to save time due to a crash earlier in the day. If it had run the full distance, 3rd would have been mine as had been closing on them at 2 seconds a lap. Crossed the line 0.3 and 0.5 secs behind.
Crashes at 2:36 and 6.51

Entered the Open race as well but got mullered in that.

Re: Oulton Park Pre-injection Race
Not bad old man. I've sent this to Ducati, I'm not sure Cals deal is fully signed yet...
Gonna get more involved now? or still just do the odd race?

Re: Oulton Park Pre-injection Race
No, just the odd one.
Planning on getting the Blade out for Thruxton as it’s the only chance of racing there unless I get to BSB standard. NOT
Did manage to take 6 seconds off my lap time (1:54) from when we were all at Oulton last year. Even though the tyres were 2007’s and I'd done 4 days on them (and I’d reversed the rear).
Have been to Thruxton twice before to race about 20/22 years ago in a sidecar.
First time we broke the chain in practice but didn’t notice the small hole in the back of the crankcase until I was sliding around on the oil on the sighting lap and had to pull in off the line.
Second time we did practice but it was so wet the meeting then got cancelled.

Re: Oulton Park Pre-injection Race
I'm thinking for Thruxton you need big balls, especially being cranked over like that with the throttle pinned wide open.
Sounds like your doing well Layne, do remember us wont you when you make it onto the big stage.
Paddock passes or anything you can pinch, Jenny Tinmouths knickers would be nice

Going to Oschersleben in a few weeks with Phase One for the Classic and World Endurance Championship. As half the team are part of the TT Legends, I'll be meeting John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop and Simon Andrews.Blimey wrote:Paddock passes or anything you can pinch, Jenny Tinmouths knickers would be nice
