Newbie trying to get Dad's Montesa Cota 247 running....

Post by mboon »

Hi All,

I am trying to get my dads old Montesa Cota 247 up and running again but not having much luck.

I plan on completing a restoration on the bike once it is mechanicly sound.

My question, does anyone know somewhere in Yeovil who knows these bikes well? I have been pointed towards the Condenser and points for my problem as the bike did run fine a few years ago. I just do not have the tools to get at these parts.

I was searching google and found a link on this site to Black Dragon Motorcycles and have dropped Pete a email.

Does anyone else know of someone local to Yeovil who can get this bike up and running again. We do not plan on using the bike again in trials but to restore for my dad, get a couple photos with him and the bike and return it to storage until he next wants to play.

Thanks in advance for your help

Mark

Hi Wildone,

I might be on that one also. I will check tonight.

I have got the bike up and running but currently in bits being lightly restored :)

Can anyone tell me where I can ride this bike within Yeovil or surround areas?
