You're far too over friendly :)) :)) :)) !
No no Badger, I only like to put them up YOUR bum. But you're so small and my fingers so long, I can tickle your tonsils.

I think I have said before (at the risk of opening a can of worms) I will only nod to those wearing what I deem enough gear (gloves, helmet, jacket and trousers) and always make sure I nod to moped riders (in gear) as they are the future.

I try to nod to pretty much everyone, even learners... we've all been a learner at some point. Spread the love man ;)

Bypassing the debate about where one ahould or ahould not put fingers, I tend to give a lazy wave (clutch side) passing other bikers going the same way.

If ones going the other way I sort of tilt my head to the side as I find a straight forward nod hard to do as my helmet is too big.

Err.... seriously. My Arai seems to have a deep back. Cauaea proba trying to do a racing crouch on the gsxr. Anyone else find this?

always try a sideways nod to fellow bikers, the friendly left handed wave to cars who pull over in traffic,

Got to know a lot of the regular commuters on my route, now know which acknowledge and which dont..

yes i do a sideways nod too, even if they don't do it back...

but also agree with FUNKY, dont have too much respect for people who are wearing t/shirt/shorts/flips flops kinda people...so i dont nod then.......as being a bike instructor its a BIG NO NO, as i have to drill it into youngsters about the bad bits of it....

but everyone else.... RESPECT

I don't know. If anyone can ride a bike in t-shirt, shorts and flipflops in this sort of weather they deserve some level of respect. :-)

We'll being a new rider and also having an "adventure" styled bike, I'm bucking the trend and I nod to every bike I see, don't get many nods back tho?

When i was starting out as a 125 scooter rider  which i had when i moved down this way from london and i see the friendly side of biking where everyone nods, I used to nod at everyone as if to be accepted and as simon said near the start, when a 'big bike' rider nodded back it made me feel so good inside. I always nod at as many others as i can. I liked the feeling of being nodded back to so i will not be a snob now i am seen as the bigger bike rider. 8)

As I've only had my bike license since October, and a bike for the last 2 weeks, I'd never really experienced the 'nod' tradition until today. I don't really pass many bikes on my way too work, and even less on the way home at 10pm, but when I have, I've looked for a nod and not seen one. Today though, something clicked with me and my bike, and I felt at home riding her. It must have showed, because every biker I saw gave a nod, and a nod was returned :)
