I have just put my bike in to Steve at Peak Performance in Exeter having decided that it was time to go to town and do it properly. So booked it in to upgrade the fork springs and a fork and shock service. Although the forks had been serviced before the shock had not been touched since the bike was new in 2001 sufficient to say it was a mess. But not any more people.......
Steve you are a god, the bike grips its well sprung and handles all the bumps. More important I have never found the bike so easy to ride and just goes where I want it to go without fighting to get there.
Thank you thank you thank you!
If you are thinking of getting your bike personalised to you, forget the rest and head straight to Peak Performance.

Re: Suspension God
For those that operate to a budget, do you feel able to say what you had done and what it cost?
And is this who you are suggesting? http://www.peakperformancesw.co.uk/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Suspension God
Would also like to know if it takes much time, i.e. Could ride in at a fixed time in the morning and ride home same day ?

Re: Suspension God
Hi yes this is him. Mine was a big job and this was over £300 but have previously been for just a shock service that is just over £100 where as a general suspension set up with no service work I think is ish £50 however I do not work for the man if you are thinking of having somthing done I recommend you call him and have a chat and get a quote.CharlieChan wrote:For those that operate to a budget, do you feel able to say what you had done and what it cost?

Re: Suspension God
When ever I have gone to him I have always booked it in for the day and dropped off at 9 and picked up at 4:30 so not realy sure. Also I guess it depends on what your having done, settings are going to be quicker then if you have to have work done.Andy900 wrote:Would also like to know if it takes much time, i.e. Could ride in at a fixed time in the morning and ride home same day ?

Re: Suspension God
Cheers, should be just a set up, even though it's 2003 bike, it's only got 4000 miles on it.
I haven't ridden it yet so really looking forward to moving back.

Re: Suspension God
All I can say on this topic is make sure you know exactly what is being done. You have no idea whats going on inside the forks.
