Stand height

Post by Simon101112 »

Evening all,

I have changed the dog bones on my bandit 600N to give a higher seat height, ( I'm 6'6), can you get longer side stands? Or is there a straight forward mod?

Cheers

Si

Does it need to be longer? When I raised the height of my B4 the bike stood a little higher on the stand but wasn't in any danger of falling over. If you definitely want it longer find a local engineering workshop and I'm sure they would weld an extension piece into or onto your current stand.

We have just had to do this with a mates ducati monster,
He has raised it about 75mm and was very lent over when on the side stand,
All we did was weld a stud extension (very long nut) onto the side stand to make the stand longer,
(With doing it this way if was still to short a bolt could be wound in to make even longer)

When I raised a previous bike, I just cut down a 1cm thick bit of alu, drilled two holes and countersunk it to the bottom of the stand. Nothing a drill and angle grinder couldnt sort in an hour.
