Hi Guys and Gals
having been to the VUE in Exeter a few months ago to watch the docufilm 'ROAD' about the Dunlop family and the history of their road racing. Totally epic film worth every penny to see and to finish it off Q&A with Michael and William Dunlop and John McGuinness.
There was a opening quote:
THE MAN HUNCHED OVER HIS MOTORCYCLE CAN FOCUS ONLY ON THE PRESENT; HE IS CAUGHT IN A FRAGMENT OF TIME CUT OFF FROM BOTH THE PAST AND THE FUTURE.
HE IS WRENCHED FROM THE CONTINUITY OF TIME… IN OTHER WORDS HE IS IN A STATE OF ECSTASY; IN THAT STATE HE IS UNAWARE OF HIS AGE, HIS WIFE, HIS CHILDREN, HIS WORRIES.
SO HE HAS NO FEAR, BECAUSE THE SOURCE OF THE FEAR IS IN THE FUTURE; AND A PERSON FREED OF THE FUTURE HAS NOTHING TO FEAR’.
The quote is by Milan Kundera and I feel it sums up the mind of a Road Racer.
