Re: NOOB from Bristol
No after the CBT you can only ride up to a 125 on L plates nothing else, I've had my zxr400 for a few months now
I was lucky enough to ride around some private lanes outside my house
I've been driving for 3 year dish now and somehow I managed (no idea how) to pass CBT, theory test, MOD 1 and MOD 2 within about a month and a half without failing once.... Must have been very lucky haha
I had to get it all done pretty quickly as this was my brake from uni and I go back in 2 weeks
But yes I do love the bike, it's pretty much as sporty and I love the early 90-2000s era of the super sports but although it's had a full service recently it does still hold a few characteristics I guess old bikes naturally carry like sometimes it does not want to go into gear (mainly higher gears) and you do need to take the revs all the way up in the lower gears to run a bit nicer at higher speeds on the higher gears otherwise it sounds like it's struggling
Just getting used to it I suppose

That's what thought just can't work out how I see 600s with L plates on and no one accompanying. Now to find some private lanes for the missus.JakeZXR wrote:No after the CBT you can only ride up to a 125 on L plates nothing else, I've had my zxr400 for a few months now

For me it is third which can be a little reluctant to go away although i am thinking of moving the pedal a bit as it seems too high to get a good movement on it.Sometimes it does not want to go into gear (mainly higher gears)
Yeah, mine can do the run up fairly easily but that's the extra 200cc for you. My main problem is that 1st and 2nd at low speeds are a bit jerky. Tightening the chain and throttle cable helped a bit with that. Solution is not to go slow I guess.and you do need to take the revs all the way up in the lower gears to run a bit nicer at higher speeds on the higher gears otherwise it sounds like it's struggling

'Dont go slow' hahah brilliant that's exactly what I was thinking haha
After all what's the point in riding a bike otherwise
And Ye I bet the extra power gain you get from 200cc helps a hell of a lot haha
Kawasakis, gotta love em
