Yoshimura Tri-Oval can GSXR1000
Hi, am not too clued up on end cans so trying to find out more on what's been done to my bike before I purchased it. The can is a "Yoshimura Suzuki Tri-Oval" and using the receipt and part number from Suzuki came back with a whopping price of £839 so wondering why is this so expensive and If it's making much difference! The bike is a late 06 GSXR1000 K6. Maybe other mods have been done alongside the new can?

Yoshi cans or systems seem popular with Gixxer models, it's a louder can normally with a few extra horses released as a bonus. Normally it would be accompanied by an after market air filter and a power commander to re map your system.
AS for the other thing, without doing a Google I couldn't tell you.

Yoshimura are a Japanese tuning house who have a long association with Suzuki, especially their racing department. Yoshimura sell High end, high cost cans as a simple performance upgrade to bikes, in the same way as do Akrapovic ( high end, high cost) are heavily associated with KTM, Termignoni, same 'high end' brand, mostly associated with Ducati. There are lower cost end cans at more reasonable £300 to £100 available, but all of them allow for a less restrictive flow of exhaust gases which can result in bhp gains. To find out what power gain you've got with your end can you can either take it to a Dyno, which will give an accurate bhp reading that you can compare to manufacturers standard bhp figures, or you can just ride the bike and enjoy a gorgeous soundtrack and be stoked you've managed to score an £800 plus end can on your Gixxer ;) !
