You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Thank-you.

Hi Robbo,
Have been keeping my eye on the weather.
It doesn't look good for the places mentioned in the info we had the other day.
Went over the moor last week and some are the roads are a little 'gravelly'.
I'm probably going to 'wimp out'
Hopefully catch up with you another time.
Ride safe.

just ride straight down to teignmouth dubs, you don't have to do the ride. plus, if you get there early, no queues for the food.

No rain forecast now for Sunday.

See you on the den, I'll be one of the people telling you where to park.

Sadly I had to pull out at the very last second!
I got there with no problems, parked out, got my T-Shirt and got a coffee and breakfast.
As I was there early I was in the first group of riders to leave.

The bloody bike wouldn't start! Whiiiiir CLUNK it went. I know the noise.. It means the battery is low/flat!
But.. I'd riding it all the way only a couple of hours before!

The guy next to me suggested using the car park slope to bump-start the bike. I tried and YES! It fired to life!
Woo!
Rode back around and retook my position with the bike idling nicely - although it sounded very rough...
Almost time to leave, and I remembered I hadn't turned the lights on yet. Flicked them on and.. Bike instantly died!

Deep breath and run it back down the slope to bring it back running.
It was this point that I realised I'd have to abandon the ride and just take it home. Teignmouth sea front is well known for it's lack of Motorbike-starting slopes...

So I started scared the second marshall by not taking the right roundabout exit, headed onto the A38 and took it nice and easy home.

The engine is sounding VERY rough, so I'll have to take a look at it tomorrow.

I'm upset because I'd been looking forward to a ride over the moors.

Still, they got my donation, so I've done my part :)

Don't worry to much as got to Postbridge and the heavens opened,
As on the 125 we cut a left at 2 bridges and headed back to Ashburton and then to Teignmouth.

Head from a few people that it was worse after that closer to tavistock.
Shame as is such a nice event for a great cause.

Will hope next year's is a bit better weather wise.
