Not sure myself, think it could be a tad dangerous in my eyes.

i'd prefer to stay off the 'freeway' and on roads that require throttle control.

seems simple enough though

I think the guy riding would be better spending his 'dollars' on a pair of gloves first :)) :))

Oh and as for the 'cruise control'?? more like stuck throttle device :-o :-o avoid like the plague is more like :)) :))

If, as you say elsewhere, you will be doing lots of long days on the motorway between Devon & Scotland I can see the point of something along these lines.

There are several devices out there, and the majority are as Badger says - a throttle sticking device, which personally I would reserve judgement on. I think I would feel more comfortable with a device that allowed the friction against the throttle to be increased, making it easier to hold the throttle open for extended periods. I would prefer it if once I released grip on the throttle, it returned to a closed position, even if a bit slower.

There are bikes out there which come with a proper electronic cruise control - touch any of the controls and full control is returned, like in a car.

Personally, if I was looking at that trip on a regular basis I'd be looking at planes or trains ......
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

I will be making it only once a month, if that. the rest of the time it's a plane from Bristol.

I already have a cramp busting device which allows your palm to rest on the throttle and that works well. As your fingers are there to slide back on the brakes if needed.

I just seen this in my research and could not believe my eyes.

A fireman who's job was to visit road accidents said as badger said avoid like the plague. Which I will be, I am just interested I what you guys think.

i think if it was a long journey and i had to do it on motorways, then i would invest in a good music system in the lid. With the right tunes going on, you won't feel your hands going numb.

I had a little clip on plastic thingie (cant remember the name of it sorry) that slips over the grip and has like a 'paddle' that sits in your palm....doesn't lock the throttle at all but made longer journeys on the motorway a little easier, stops you getting wrist ache so much.
Of course my other one has a quick action throttle... 8)

Bloke who does a lot of touring had this cruise control fitted - he reckons it's the best he has ever used. He believes it was bought from Biketek but as he has had it many years he may be mistaken. Thumb action locks it and releases via thumb or any throttle movement.
