Cripes, I think I've done all those sections more than a few times. May I suggest a couple of alternatives?

Instead of the well ridden Bampton-South Molton road try the old road through Rackenford between Tiverton and South Molton?????????

A good loop between South Molton and Barnstaple is via North Molton, Withypool, Simonsbath, Blackmoor Gate, Berry Down Cross and Muddiford??????

Why not post your own ride out with said route :8o)):

Thanks for the suggestions...

Trying to put together a run for everyone, including the smaller cc bikes, new riders.... Never plain sailing and I am sure we have all done a lot of these roads more than once, its a bit of a balance on mileage, folks getting there...

Wanted to get another run in before the weather turns...

Cheers

Sorry I spoke....just trying to be helpful to Steve.

Are we all aware that the A361 between Tiverton and South Molton will still be closed and all the Link Road traffic is being diverted to the north of said highway?????
old and disgraceful so doing what I can while I can before I can't

Are those routes going clockwise or widdershins ? :-?
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?

Right then folks...

We will stick with Route 1 as there are plenty of places to stop en route...

Thanks for the update on the A361 Ptolemyx...

There are some 2 way lights we will encounter, but looking at Roadworks.org... Even if we were to follow the loop, we would still hit the roadworks and lights...

We will be heading out of Exeter towards Moretonhampstead B3212, A382 towards Whiddon Down, then join the A382 towards North Tawton joining the A3072 through Sampford Courtenay onto A386 through Meeth and on to Great Torrington... B3232 through to Barnstaple and then the loop round the A361 towards Braunton, A3123 through Berry Cross and onto the A399 through Brayford, join the A361 for a few miles and then off towards Bampton on the B3227, dropping back into Exeter on A396...

EEK... Hopefully a bit of everything for everyone...

Plenty of stops as folks need them, option of stopping at the biker friendly Cafe, roughly halfway round just past Braunton.

Hoping folks can make it and its a good mix for both newbs and old hands

In terms of Weather... Hmmmmmmmn

Not looking to bad... FINAL CALL WILL BE MADE 7:30PM SATURDAY AND POSTED ON THIS THREAD.

Cheers

Thinking about it.... :-?
Exeter's a fair trek for me just to get to the start line. Like the look of the route though especially a ride across Dartmoor.
I could be tempted. Weather permitting...
