Bike delivery service ?

Good Morning.

I am looking for someone or company to get my bike deliver in May to Exeter from Lytham. Is any of you do such thing or can help me with it etc ?

I take it this is due to you moving down to Devon to live finally? If so why not ride the bike yourself? If Mr Super drives the car/ moving van you follow along behind ( or thrash on and meet at various service stations, handing him a hot coffee whilst you try to hide the smug grin ;) ).........

Otherwise leave the bike at a friend's in Lytham until you're all moved and then take a train there and ride the bike back to Exeter.

I already moved to Exeter two days ago I come back yesterday to pick up the bike to ride it back home. I went to town to fill up the petrol and things when I discovered...long story short: my radiator is broke so can't ride the bike home I am super upset as you can imagine. So have no choice but to get someone to pick my bike and deliver to Exeter and I will get a train back home.

I can't recommend anyone particularly but maybe someone on here with a bike trailer and nothing to do for a day will offer to help ( long shot I know ). Otherwise you could hire a van from a 'national' hire company who let you do a one way drive and drop service ( hire in Lytham, drop to depot in Exeter). Worth ringing around anyway, probably work out a similar cost to getting it transported and your train ticket back, while you get the piece of mind of knowing the bike is in safe hands.

Let's hope. I am flexible with dates so anytime in May will suits me. I might as well catch a train now so if you see fully gear up biker on the train, yeah that will be me hahahaha feck sake

You not a member of AA/RAC etc? Register you address as Exeter (as it is), then call up recovery....

Thats a big round trip. About 700 miles and probably 11hrs driving up and back down again.In a van doing 35mpg (if you're lucky) , thats £100 of fuel plus probably 12 hrs of time. If you can get it done for £150 or so i'd bite their hand off! I know van hire around here is about 50 odd quid per day (might be cheaper in Exeter) so you wouldn't be far off that figure anyway, plus you'd have to do all the driving.

Delivery company based in Manchester get a quote you may be able to ride with them so you are there for collection and delivery.
Lots advertised on ebay the dealers use them frequently.

As I said borrowing car and trailer was a long shot, didn't mean distance though .......have to admit wasn't really sure how far away Lytham was

Yes I have a membership...but I won't call them up as that would be very naughty and I am a good and decent person

Personally, if you have recovery, I'd use that - you pay your premium for just this sort of thing?

Check your recovery policy first though, I had AA Recovery ( an add on to my free standard cover) and when I got transported from Okehampton to Redruth I was 2 or so miles outside of my 70 mile maximum free recovery area. I had to pay an extra £2.50 as it was £1 per mile for distances outside of your cover area. Not much for me ( annoying none the less ) but could get costly coming from Oop North to Exeter.
