I've got my name down for it, the places aren't confirmed until Feb 1st so still waiting to hear on my fate.
I did the course a few years ago, always worth a go to see how many bad habits i've picked up.
I know Brian did it last year and wasn't impressed but he's been around long enough to have actually seen it all so probably had nothing left to learn.

No Si, I've forgotten it all. I just reviewed my summation of the day I did last year and still think it a fair summary of my own experience. I wholeheartedly recommend doing a BikeSafe day for everybody. Probably the best benefit is for us who did our test yonks ago and have stupidly had no further training and the track day warriors who overestimate their road riding because they can get round a track quickly.
"Interesting day. They're obviously passionate to help us reduce the statistics. I most definitely do not know it all (as you all will have observed) but in all honesty I didn't learn anything new. I hoped they would highlight the bad riding habits that I'm not aware of but, happily, nothing significant was flagged. Ride out was fun, if a tad slow.
No, I will not be going all Rospa/IAM but am resolved to try and keep better hazard perception at the front of my consciousness rather than in the back of my mind on the bike."
old and disgraceful so doing what I can while I can before I can't

I've done this a couple of times over the years and registered for another this year, heard nothing back yet. Recommend it, we all pick up bad habits over time and this is a useful way of getting them picked up by someone you'll probably listen to. It also helps to 'humanise' coppers. There are some who are dicks out there but I've never met one who's a bike copper.

Having done this once a few years ago. for me once was enough. but not in a bad way in a very good way. If your going on this to improve your riding ability then your going to be disappointed however if your going with a genuine interest in improving your hazard awareness and in turn improving the way you ride when you are on the road you are going to be very very happy that you did.
There was so much that I learned about where you position yourself on the road and where you should be looking and considering your ability to avoid what might be round the next corner. work every penny and not expensive at all for the information you are receiving.

I did this with rob a few years ago it was ok I guess, best bit was rob not being able to keep up with a GS on track
I had forgotten about this, that was at the national event at Castle Coombe. And your right that was on my K1 600 and was useless on it at the time. Could not get anywhere near you Mark

I did it up in Avonmouth about 10 years ago, but your post made me think “why not” Si ... so I’ve stuck my name down on the waiting list for Devon & Cornwall. Do you know where they run it from? Is it Police HQ at Middlemoor?
When I did the one from Exeter the day was based fut of Clyst St Mary.
Barnstaple was out of the police station.
Don't know where they run them from these days.

Did mine in Truro as was told it is best to do this course on roads that you do not know so that you get the best out of their teaching to read the road and position your bike and speed accordingly. Have to say that it worked well.
Was a great ride getting to Truro as went across Devon from Exeter over to Bude then went down the A39 into Truro. Was all full of myself on the way there thinking I was the man doing triple number speeds....... road home a LOT slower noticing hazards everywhere that I had never seen before

I’ve just realised that I’ve had no email confirmation or anything but I can log-in and see my booking marked as paid so I’ve printed off the details, got my license, insurance and MOT certificates to hand and will just turn-up at Middlemoor in the morning on the assumption that I have a place. I’ll let y’all know how it goes.
