How are we all doing???

Post by Red5 »

Hi folks

How're we all doing?? Hope everybody's keeping their sense of humours. Great to see the ways folks are getting their biking fix one way or another =))
Remember that you can reach out to your mates on here for moral support or just the usual snot and abuse to get you through.

Take care guys and gals keep smiling :D :-bd
Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..

I just can't take it anymore.

I think most people know that I am an all season "iron butt" rider so it's probably understandable that this would hit me hard.
I can see light at the end of the tunnel though, but I expect that is just the train.

Doing okay Mr Red. Ta for checking on us all. Fortunately I'm blessed with - a. A complete lack of imagination, meaning I worry not, what's the point? b. An Armed Services background and c. An abiding interest in reading, music and improving my level of bike bodging; I'm not bored - far from it in fact.
Add to the above that I'm naturaly lazy. All I need to do to see this through is keep on doing what I'm good at - staying in and doing feck-all much.

I do miss my biking though :( .

Keep safe folks.

We're on the 12 week ultra lockdown but things are fine. Getting meds, food and wine okay. The garden is being hit big time - not much of that physical gardening nonsense; we're spending a lot of time in the "she shed" with tea, coffee and cakes looking at the fish pond, wildlife ponds and visiting birds.

Never mentioned suicide..., and the train was more a metaphorical one.

It's doing my head in....

However I have eventually got around to repacking the rsv's exhaust, so that's a plus. And if this continues I may even remove and drain the tank to see if it'll shrink back and I'll line it with something, and have a go at the starter cables which seem to cause a few issues

And the DIY is coming on a treat, but the list grows by the bloody day 🤔

Take care all

For info' Ben, my Aprilia RST 1000 had a plastic tank and that grew, I now have a Triumph Sprint ST 1050 with a plastic tank, and that's growing nicely too.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . effin' ethanol :-l .

So, if you've an older bike with a plastic tank - it'll grow, and, like my waistline, it won't shrink back to it's proper size. You'll have to get imaginative with the tank mountings and/or buy a bigger pry bar.

Strangely, the more I'm off the motorbike the less I yearn to get back on it. Still loving the racing - BT Sport are doing a re run of the best motogp races and that's been fantastic to watch.

But riding? I could use the bike to take my scanner and paperwork back to the depot in Exeter but can't be arsed to get kitted up for that short a ride so use the van.
Have SORN'd it now as the tax expired last month so no temptation to go out now.
If the "lock down" goes on for a few months I can see the KTM getting sold once we're allowed out.
KTM 1190ADV - sold
KTM 790ADV - sold
KTM 790 Duke - sold
Honda CB300R - sold
Honda NC750X DCT - sold
Yamaha MT-07 Y-AMT - very modern
1981 Suzuki TS185ER - very much not modern 🙄

I’m missing riding big time, it’s doing my nut in.
Spend all day working in hospitals with the associated risk but then can’t go for ride when I’m done...All the more frustrating listening to bikes flying around this weekend clearly taking the piss and ignoring the rules....too f@cking soft with the fines in this country... some countries they shoot you :-o
But, it is was it is and let’s hope all our family and friends get through this mess...
