Re: Picking up a bike
I'm working every day have been since it began if I was in Plymouth doing a job wich I do from time to time I wouldn't mind adding it on to my route but making a special trip to do so not so sure .i have parts with a sandblastwr and powder coater in cornwall that I need to get also but thought that was taking the micky
Re: Picking up a bike
Looking at the traffic on the M5 today and surrounding main routes I'd say half of Devonians have decided they're free to drive anywhere.
Definitely more businesses starting to reopen as well. Jewson's were closed but are now open as is a re-upholstery place in Paignton that did my KTM seat. Many others will follow this week I'm sure. Just be sensible and keep your distance if you do collect it. To be safe I'd advise wearing gloves and sanitise your hands after you've loaded it, ditching the gloves first obviously

Re: Picking up a bike
So as I understand it (typing whilst listening to the prime minister) based on the clarification now given to the English public.
If you are driving in a van by your self or with family members (only) and you are travelling in England (and not going to Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) then this is allowed. When you then reach your destination as long as you only talk to 1 person and not multiple people then there is no reason why not (but would suggest this is confirmed with the person before you leave). Also once you meet stay 2M apart.
If you have to travel a long distance and you are looking to stay in a hotel then you have got a problem and should not go and you will not find a hotel that will want to invite you in. Also as a consideration you might want to plan and take a pack lunch as you do not really want to stop any by food or drink whilst on your journey. I would suggest you try to make sure you ave a full tank of fuel and if you do need to fill up try to do so at locations with pay at pump to reduce your exposure to others.
hope this helps

Re: Picking up a bike
That sounds fair and unless you bin the van big time you are not exposing others (which is the point) to any risk.

Re: Picking up a bike
As I understand it this is another thing the government is trying to tell people is that the hospitals are still open for other critical illnesses so if you have cancer, heart problem , a major injury then this can still be treated. Not suggesting for one second that we should all go out for a ride and aim for a tree but common sense approach to a low risk journey, with low social contact in a vehicle designed to do the job at hand...... think you should be good
