-the cost of Bedford for a Private day.

Post by billinom8s »

SO i've heard back from MSV regarding a private hire day for Bedford Autodrome.

This cost includes all the essentials required to operate the event including MSVT operational staff, marshals, medical cover, recovery, and a contribution towards the MSV PLI.

Working on 38 per group.
3 groups - NOVICE, INTERS And FAST

For Monday September 5th

Works out at £130 pp.

This would of course be open to EVERYONE straight away. Members, non members, contacts, fb friends from across the country etc, etc as all the places would have to be sold.

I told them I would give it a week before letting them know either way.
Please understand this is a massive number of places to sell so word would have to be spread far and wide for it to work and I would need Help.

Please vote and comment.

I'm sure you'll get an enthusiastic hardcore pledging their unswerving support but that doesn't fill 114 slots. You can count Wendy and I in but you may want to consider 2 X novice groups and one inters as the fast group is always slowest to fill and novice the fastest. Maybe we could share the day with another group and reduce the financial exposure?

I think some of you are missing a point or not it won’t be just SWB it’ll be a normal track day as I understand it
It’ll be open everyone in the world
People will have to travel a lot further possibly ride a lot further up and back and possibly overnight accommodation

From what Billi has said above it's not a normal track day, it's a SWB only day but as lots of tickets need to sell it will be to open to everyone via SWB.

(edit)
Though the wording of title does sound misleading...

How can it be a SWB track day when there will be non SWB there and potentially more non SWB than SWB members at a guess at llandow there’s at a guess 40 riders at Bedford there will be that per group over the last few years Simon has struggled to fill those and with the extra travel etc etc fewer will probably make the effort
If it’s run via SWB who’s responsible if not all tickets are sold ?

It would be under a Private hire to swb, same as llandow was.

As there are far more spaces te sell in a shorter space of time it would be open to those outside of swb, same as llandow is after a certain date as all the places would need to be sold. So yes there would be non swb riders there.

Group wise would be down to us. 2 novice 1 inters, 1 of each, 2 inters 1 novice etc.

So would SWB be responsible for paying the difference if not all places are sold ? Or would it just be cancelled?
Personally knowing how stressful selling all places for llandow is or was I think it’s madness even thinking about trying to sell 120 places I won’t be there I’ll be riding in Spain
