Then you're maybe herding groups
Second group with it's own leader and tec could immediately follow first group with the aim of staying together but not to worry if the groups separate as we'll get back together at agreed stopping points...
As for riding up on Friday we could do an early group leaving first thing trying to avoid the M5 car park and second group leaving noonish for those that can't get out of bed early. As long as we're all together at the Neuadd in time for a pre meal drink or three.

Having no real separation between the groups could lead to confusion for the turn markers if using the drop off system.
I guess it would be down to the rear groups run leader to maybe keep the front group in sight but at a distance so as to stop them from merging.
Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..
I'm for two distinct and seperate groups with a couple of pre-agreed en-route stopping points that all riders are informed of in advance - i.e the Spar shop near Chepstow NP16 6PE, the Oasis Cafe at the bus station & car park in Abergavenny NP7 5NF and maybe Brecon. That way, if anyone gets lost etc there's somewhere to head for and get picked up.
As I said, I envisage two groups for the Friday ride up. I believe some want to start off early and some will want to start nearer noon
Saturday's ride out is another matter. I'd like us all to stop for lunch at the same place and as near as poss' the same time. Two or three groups at ten minute intervals? Just make sure everyone in each group knows who their leader and tec are.
What could possibly go wrong

Well as I've stated previously eleswhere on the forum, I'm definately not M5-ing it to the old Severn Bridge during peak grockle traffic time on the Friday mid-morning. Instead, I'll be leaving home at sparrows fart and meet some or all of you at either the Chepstow Spar shop or the Oasis Cafe in Abergavenny.
If anyone wants to do the same and miss the M5 north-bound car park I'm more than happy to meet up with you en route to the above.
Where on the M5 is the traffic usually bad north bound on a Friday?
I was thinking of leaving at around 10:00 and taking the A37 up and cutting across just under Brizzle, or even carrying on all the way up to the M4 and follow that across instead, there's really not that much in it.
Friday in the summer around Bristol and Cardiff is a bottleneck.

I'll be pootling on up the M5 unless cracking on at the crack of sparrows. If the M5 is that choka, then other roads will be just as bad with no chance of keeping together as a group. Thinking a steady together to the Severn view services then enjoy the twisties from Chepsotow onwards.
