Bloody insurance companies.....

Post by Busa Bro »

After 212 minutes on the phone..... They simply don't answer and refuse to operate a call back service.
I finally insured my off roading crf.
Wanted to keep same renewal dates as road bike (Goldwing).

£80 full comp to add for 3 months to other policy. (Other bike would lose buy back, assured value gaurantees and free mod alterations)
Or
£100 full comp new business for a full year on separate policy.

So annoying.

I have separate policies for all of my bikes.
Just renewed my DRZ - £74 fully comp (Carol Nash Select).

So who's the offending company? It's always good to know these things.

It was Bennets. But think they are all the same really. I complained. And they did email me saying sorry and that they had a new call center coming on line asap.

I was with Bennets a couple of years ago but their lack of company loyalty to current policy holders e.g. an almost 50% increase in premium forced a move. I then went with MCE. After their crash in November last year forced a move I went with Bikesure. No complaints about their telephone service but time will tell if it's third move lucky for me :erm: :!: .

I've been with Bennetts for many years, same pattern every year. Price goes up.. so I say no.
I let the policy expire, do a search on 'compare the market' site, and usually they are the cheapest again, so I go back.

This year they declined to quote on the site, which has happened before as I think sometimes you have to wait a few weeks for the renewal offer to expire before they will compete again.
Still, not to worry. Carol Nash were cheaper even than last year with Bennetts.

For my 1190 I'm with Bikesure and they've been great.. consistently cheaper than any other company and also cut their price once as I was going to leave.

But for the most part all you need to do is use a comparison site, and don't do multi bike policies as then you're trapped.

i've just had my renemal for the superduke through Bennetts, b'stards.

They did me the kindness of showing me what last years was, then doubled it and added a topper. Over £260!

told them to stick it, went with Devitt for £106 fully comp.

Did they offer a reason as to why?
Seems odd to have such a big price jump if you have not claimed

Apparently insurance has gone up.

I don't think so.
