Hi - from the far North ! (Northamptonshire)

Post by Bewildebeest »

Hi all,
As it says above I'm in Northamptonshire but originally from Wiltshire (almost the South West yes ?) and planning to return in the near future.

But the immediate reason for joining is that I recently acquired the outfit you see below and I'd like to shake the hand of the creator who must be an absolute genius in many ways. Originally the bike was constructed in Bournemouth (or maybe Christchurch) and I'm told the maestro in question was known as Mr Moo - and there's a member on here by that name. (Is it possible to @ him ? I tried but didn't appear to work)
The bike btw is a 1978 XS1100 with one or two mods . Both bike and sidecar are currently dismantled and being restored to their former glorious state as per the picture.

Anyone remember the bike or know Mr Moo ?

TIA
Andrew

Hi Andrew and welcome to SWB.
An interesting outfit you've got there; I used to race off-road sidecars so have a (un)natural interest in anything with a wheel hanging off the side. There's not enough outfits on the road in my opinion so good luck with the resto' of this, I for one would like to see it when it's finished.

To your Mr Moo: There's no-one of that forum name listed. The nearest I could find is a mrmoog. He is listed as joining in March 2009 but made no posts and so no doubt, like the vast majority of people on the members list (5,864 of them), was just a blow-in with no real interest in SWB participation or involvement.

Yep, I stand corrected. My mistake was entering the search name as one word i.e MrMoo

Whereabouts in Northants are you based Andrew? I'm originally from there but now in Hants, last (and more preferred) place I lived was actually Wilts...
