powder coating
Does anybody know of any places in Plymouth that do powder coating ?
Only want some small things doing like brake calipers and possibly wheels etc.

Any recommends for the Exeter area?
Re: powder coating
Basically just backing up what Blubird and CBRSam have said really, Steve Leech does an Excellent job! Friendly bloke too.
I took up my chrome rims (sadly chrome was flaking and eaten away with harsh winters) to him to be powder-coated silver. He's very cheap, it was about £20 per rim and that included silver powder-coating a clear-coat powder on top. Looks great!
I'm using him now to do an Exhaust and Radiator Grill.
Added bonus for me is that he's only about 1/2 mile away.

Hi Chris,
If you click on the link I posted (and A_T reposted
) it will load up a Google Map locating where they are...Basically its on the northern tip of Plymouth just off the A386.
1) Follow A38 West to Plymouth
2) Go past the flyover with Sainsbury's on your left. Keep on the A38 until you get to the A386 Turnoff (Tavistock)
3) Exit at turnoff marked "A386 Tavistock), and go round the roundabout following signs for A386-Tavistock.
4) Follow this road for about 3 miles or so (Pass the Derriford Roundabout, Pass the George Hotel Pub/Airport where roadworks are taking place), Pass the Woolwell-Roundabout until the road goes back into Dual-Carriageway.
5) At the end of the short dual-carrageway bit, you will see a big factory (used to be Plessey, can't remember who it is now as its had a few change of owners). Turn FIRST left on the roundabout into Tamerton Road.
6) Take the THIRD LEFT (Broadley Industrial Estate) off Tamerton Road, and take the first right and you are there. Its not too difficult to find really.
My rims were normal 'spoke' type rims but with the spokes removed. I believe the price included everything. Not sure what the cost of a "sports-bike" style alloy would cost, wouldn't think there would be much difference though.
He told me it would take 3-days depending on work-load, although he did mine in a day. top service!
Your best bet is to speak to the owner (Steve). He has a variety of colours available to choose from with a chart etc.
Hope this helps!
