No one is speeding from south brent onwards.

There is que for an accident at Marley Head then the que is solid and staionary towards Buckfastley. Glad I was on the bike or I'd still be in it.

I had a message from Ali at 3:30, she was supposed to be going to Uni in Exeter for a lecture from 4-5. Left home at 2:30, still stuck in traffic at 3:30 with 25 miles to go. She was going to take the next slip road and come back home.

Why can't they do this stuff at night.

And when there's an accident.............."Lets shut the road for 8 hours, no-one will notice, it wont affect anyone"

i really felt for people in cars on way back this afternoon
the tailback started at that "rattery" hill. still a few miles to go to the roadworks.
then i stopped feeling sorry -- you always get someone resenting you on a bike and trying to shove you of road when they see you coming !!
generally most are good and make room,,

Not wrong there Chris. I was witness to that yesterday. I was in my car on my way home to here in Fareham and was well and truely caught up in the jam around 1800-ish. I saw 2 lads on bikes behind me and moved over for them, but the car in front moved over so they could not get past. They eventually found a way round him and were none too pleased with his actions.

Not sure who gave him the [idiot] sign the best, the 2 riders or me.

And yes, the car in front was a Volvo!!!

8) Hello All it's been a while But i've been working on the A38 closures as I'm working in TM. The Gatso's are the least of your worries as all the CCTV cameras your passing are all time and motion infered speed cameras I have seen these these in action over this passed week and even at 2am in the pitch black you can read number plates/and see drivers faces as clear as day so if your driving/riding over 40mph through these works expect a ticket within 14 days and there are 23 cameras covering both carrigeways 24/7 so please take care because you could loose your licence from start to finish of this site. this setup is new to us westcountry folk but it's being used all over the UK.The Gatso is set at 44mph allowing 10% but we all know about them this site is due to be here until Easter. I hope this will help some of you.
Oh and you didn't get it from me. :D

are the CCTV cams taking pics of the front or rear number plates? If they're the same as the SPECS average speed cams used elsewhere in the country then it's the front only as front number plates are generally cleaner and therefore easier to read by automated systems.

It seems that when a vehicle exceeds the speed limit between two points the cameras lock on between them and read front and back I dont know how they do this but I have seen it happen there's a camera techno chap watching there on shifts to cover 24/7.

When the road works near Exeter at the start of the motorway had speed cameras they caught something like 14,000 people speeding. (not sure of the number but it was loads)

But there wasn't one accident. :) :) :)

So allowing for those who slowed down for the camera and then sped up, (i.e. most people) lots and lots of people were speeding and no one had an accident, but the speed cameras made loads of money.

Anyone might think they are just raising money.
