Arse 6, Help needed!!!!

Post by Cheggers »

Well, the on going saga that is getting my s*it box r6 back on the road took a new twist today

After my lowside, the bike turned over once and then the battery died.
Replaced the battery today for a new one, and hey presto the bike doesn't even turn over now

Made sure all the noddy things such as the kill switch wasn't on and the fuses. wern't blown. The lights and the rest of the electrics are working fine.

Any advice or useful suggestions?
(before i start tw*tting it with a hammer  )

Have you tried turning it over with no plugs in ?
I worked on a bike after a spill that would not turn over, it had hydraulic locked.
If not, then check for 12v at the starter and solenoid

I have the same problem at the moment with the GS500 as it hadden been started in a week or so i tried it and it turned over couple of times spluttered and now wont even turn over though all the battery and fuses are okay.

Couldnt be anything to do with the sparkplugs could it?

Chewie - depends whether you mean won't turn over or won't fire ??
Plugs won't stop it turning over

haven't they got a tilt sensor??? so when the bike goes over after a spil it cuts out? you may need to lower her again to reset the tilt sensor.......just a thought :D

did it go down on the sidestand side? check your sidestand switch/wires all OK. . Also, try bumpstarting it (or run a jump-lead directly from the battery + to the starter motor) and see if it starts, see if its the whole ignition system thats gone or just the power to the starter motor
