Stupid things people say......

Post by A_T »

I went into town on the bike this morning and was in the opticians for a contact lens check, anyway I goes into the room and the optician says to me "what bike do you ride" so I tells him and his face lights up and he says "oh a proper bike then"  I mean does this guy think I only ride a moped or something, I think the full set of leathers would have given him some idea of what I ride.......

Am I the only one or does anyone else get stupid comments like that?

Yeah I get it all the time  I wonder why

Is it because I look like i'm about 10?

But thats in my all weather gear A_T

But yes I get that all the time "You ride that big yellow big" or "Oh you ride a 400?" And another one is "Are you sure?" <--- that was after I told them what I ride.

And the worst, going GT's and asking for an oil filter and picking up some 10w40 oil and then matey (looks like a scappy chav) goes "You sure your dad rides a ZXR400" I nearly lamped that chav out :x

The one I usually get at least twice a week is when I'm leaving work walking through the office in leathers with a helmet in my hand.

"On the bike tonight then?"

"Nope it's just the bus drivers are bloody dangerous now so I wear protection!"

Cool cheers, thats helpful to know, although I cant stand wearing them, well I never use to, but have to really as I race MX, and its impossible to ride without glasses steaming up, and then you just cant see sh*t!

Right i might be being thick (most likely) but if I order some, is it same prescription for my glasses?

Silly question but I dont want to waste money .

Cheers

When I was at College:
Lecturer : "Have you all used a micrometer ?"
Young student : "My bike hasn't got one - it's an import"

I hate it when people ask what you riding, then ask your age, then they are adiment that I'm breaking the law because 17 years olds arent allowed to ride anything bigger than a 125cc.. an they will tell you till you are blue in the face!!

And for anyone 17 or 18, when your mates have never been on a bike before, pass there car test and buy a 1.2 Clio an tell you that its faster than your 400!

Not so stupid are they. I think you may find they are right you are breaking the law. Dohh    Even if they aren’t as clever as you and know which law you are breaking.

PS not bad for a 17 year old to have passed his test a year and a half ago, as you implied. I was under the impression that was last possible for a civvy in 1973.
