GT Motorcycles

What are peoples experiences of GT Motorcycles in Plymouth. They have a 2004 Z750 for 4k which I am very intersted in. I have heard a couple of negative comments about them and would like to know what you lot think of them??

never used them but i know alot of people who have..
completely split down the middle - either love them or hate them

I've bought 2 bikes off them since I moved down here 14 years ago. Had major issues with both of them. Have advised all my mates to go elsewhere and they all have. Still buy spares of them when I cant get them elsewhere and I really begrudge spending that money there.

Ripping me off and speaking to me like I am an idiot has proved very costly for that place.

Some of the deals around for Z750's are superb. Treat your self to a day out and go up country to buy 1.

Would'nt use them for anything but parts
Got a bike serviced there once and they forgot to put the engine oil back in !!!!

I reaally don't like the place, seems really cliquey and i always feel like i'm being talked down to whenever i'm in there. I know one mate who bought a bike from there a year ago, got completly ripped off with the price they asked for it and has snags with the bike ever since.

Get to bridge in exeter!!

From the sounds of it, I think I will give them a miss. I am quite keen to use Bridge in Exeter, as they seem to have a good rep, and they are local.

try SP Motorcycles too, they are just a few hundred yards down the road from Bridge...

Yep Steve and Dave are good

My advice would be to look around mate, Jay Had his CBR serviced at GT and they left oil filler cap off and Jay had oil everywhere.

Aslo up the road from Bridge is Dynomap who are just down from SP, they have some nice Italian Exotica

They used to be Italian motor cycles in Crediton but have just moved.

There is also Green lane bikes 2 doors down from them but I think they are more into off road bikes.

We bought both our bikes there.

After the first service on the Hornet I was well pissed of, really bad attitude and they broke the new screen and tried to blame it on how I fitted it. Trouble was they fitted it. pregnant goldfishies.

But they offered such a good deal on the Fazer I bought that of them. They gave me £700 more for the VFR than Bridge, and the Fazer was cheaper than Bridge's price for a year older Fazer. Probably saved my self £1000 on the deal.

But I didn't take it to them for a service.

mental bought his bikes from there and he doesn't get any trouble from them.
But he scares them so much ,they have to have 2 people present when he talks to them. (I don't know why)

A good friend of mine bought an Aprilia from bridge, and one of the chips went, something to do with the fuel, 9 months later bridge still had the bike and still had NO PART from Italy, they didnt even give him a replacement bike (yet they gave one to another friend who just wanted a service). [Censored] is all I can say.

In the end he had to Sue Bridge to get his money back. Remeber this bike was brand new and he only ever had it for 3 days, in the 1st year.

I know its a fair way for most of you, but IRELANDS MOTORCYCLES in Barnstaple are 2nd to none. ok their bikes maybe a little dearer, BUT there after sales is absolutely brillient.

It seems to me, the bigger they are THE LESS THEY CARE.

I have never tried GT but have bought seven bikes from Bridge, new and used. Speaking as I find I have never had any kind of a problem with prices, p/x or servicing, though I have had the odd problem getting Triumph parts, which I think was down to Triumph. Just my experience.

Why bother buying from a dealer ?

With a bit of common sense you will save a packet buying privately, especially if you are prepared to travel up country a little way.

If you're loking at a bike that's only a year or 2 old it should be good as new so there's little risk of there being a problem. If there is a problem any money saved should cover the cost of it.

As for GT's, not really had much dealings with them lately, they just seemed expensive when I was thinking of getting a fazer 1000. They had 2 in stock which were well used and well over-priced.

i picked up a bargian on ebay. It's a little risky but you can really get some real finds on there
