'PITSTOP'

Look in here for local ride outs...

Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

'PITSTOP'

Post by Maver-Nick »

Ok here goes, bear with me as this will be a little long winded...
Yesterday, Triumph_Taz, AndyCBR and I went for a rideout, finishing at Andys' hgv training yard, at Heathfield Ind Est near Trago Mills.
Over a coffee we agreed this would be an ideal place for SWB to meet.
Having rode home and given it some thought I came up with this...

One Sunday in eight (more - less?) All SWB areas arrange a rideout that incorporates a 'PITSTOP' at the halfway point.
Individuals could come alone if they wanted.
N Devon/Somerset - old A38, Plymouth - over the moors etc. then similar home or a blast on A38/M5.
Co-ordinated to assemble at the 'PITSTOP' between 12 - 2pm.

AT the location a 'Red' or 'Green' (SWB Staff) ie. Dave, A_T, AGE, BikerBird, Jay, Speedy and ZX6R would be on hand to recruit and administer membership, stickers, sell/take orders for SWB clothing and merchandise and answer questions.

There is storage space for 'Reds' / 'Greens' (staff) to leave SWB gear if they wanted, thereby uncluttering your homes.

Riders could Join, buy, sell, part ex, test etc or simply hang out and chat over a coffee/tea, biscuits (No Cookies) 50p in the tin. Have a read...(TomR6 keep hold of those mags)

If it rains all the bikes could be parked inside in the lorry park.

There is seating inside for all, with home comforts, Television etc

There's even a small gym area if your feeling energetic.

Pockets of riders could shoot off for some great rides around the surrounding area, moors - 5mins, A38 - 1min

a BBQ could be fired up for the 'Jasperisers' amongst us.

This isn't a residential area, so no-one would moan if we made a little noise (There are some nice long straights around)

Pretty much central location for all areas for a decent rideout.

Details of the days it's on will be posted as 'PITSTOP' the week before.

That's it...That's about as far as my imagination stretches these days. obviously you will have an opinion/ideas, so let's hear them...
can this work...I think so... 8) :D

sounds good but we also have regular pub meets which I'm willing to give out stickers etc to members, I also don't mind taking money for membership but it's best that it's done direct to Dave really :).....

Everyone is welcome to the pub meets  but don't you have Exeter pub meets too.....

I'm always up for a rideout anyway so you could count me in for a meet at the pit stop.. if Dave is willing to send the Admins stickers etc then it could work and maybe a membership card could be organised to give out ..

Excellent idea Nick. The HGV training yard is an excellent facility and as Nick said, it has all the facilities and would me a great place to stop off.

It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but at least someone from the Exeter side of things is making an effort!!!

That was another thought, come the summer there's room for a bouncy castle, tables outside etc for families to tag along.
