Fazer Question?
When u have your lights on, on a fazer 600, are both lights supposed to come on, or only 1?
fazer light
Cheers dude, was worried i had bought a bike with a dodgy light.
Advice there is spot on and converting to twin fil blubs is a really good thing to do...esp this time of year!
(Donno why the Japs went down this road of single fil lights...wasn't very clever)
Obviously as mentioned best place for info in your case is the FOC...But if you have questions that can't be answered there feel free to ask away on here

Your lucky Jim m8 when they built bikes back then...they made em to last
A great theory I came across was when I was speaking to FactoryPro about various issues with bikes...
His theory is...Jap Engineering teams...are re-newed every 10 years (I.e they earn so much in 10 years they retire)...
So then you got a fresh bunch of Jap Engineers...making loads of mistakes again...LOL
I guess the idea then...with that in mind...is try and buy the last bikes an team design before they retire for the new team PMSL
Suzuki is perfect example of how something so right went so wrong...
Early 90's...great engine...but the bike was too heavy and kept up-righting in corners (esp gsxr1100)
Then it happened 96...came along with the SRAD gsxr....yippie spot on good solid bike that works well...lasts well...rides well...
That model was so good that it remained largely unchanged for 4 yrs!
Then it all went a bit pete tong...2000 came along (I think also a "new team" lol) and they started banging out bikes every year...with one thing in mind...how to make the most profit out of the market...
Off the record I've actually had a Suzuki dealership say that the gixxerK5 is and I quote..."a bit shoddy but the engine is starting to improve over previous years" LOL
So now we know....the gsxr in 2009-2010 is the one to go for! heh
Anyway back onto the subject (sorry about that)...blue...I doubt the cost makes any difference...more likely it's Jap's trying to copy Ducati or something again...anyway who cares...it is what it is got to make the best of what you got...let us know how the conversion goes m8!

Not just Japs - Triumph supply their bikes with one light for dip and the other for full beam. They are both twin filament bulbs, so all you need to do is find the 2 empty relay plugs and stick a couple of #5 relays in their and then both lights come on for dip and full beam. Also had a Cagiva which had the same system, but never got around to trying to change it in that bike.

The German TuV test requires that motorcycles show only one lamp on dip, no European country requires that both lamps must light on dip. That's why lots of manufacturers do it... saves having two European spec bikes. On my GSXR I just ran a jump lead accros to the unused terminal in the bulb holder from the other lamp... all of the wiring and relays were up to the job... just beware that you must be certain that the headlamp glass has a "dip" zone.
Your probably right Furry. I've been a consultant engineer designing vehicles for the last 20years. Engines, chassis and airframes.
Your ideas about design are just about totally opposite from the facts as I have experienced them. But I know you wont listen and learn.
Perhaps you will be good enough to correct my errors.
And just bear in mind next time your fly in an airliner, ride a bike or drive a car your life will depend on the quality my colleagues work, and mine. We are highly skilled and trained to work on facts not fantasy. So don't expect me to belive a word of what you say, it just never makes sence.
