i am plaine jane (the male version) when it comes down to bikes
1) Ducati 999 those little round lights at the front do it for me small and descreet
2) Yamaha R1 in black 04 onwards with the underseat exhaust, fine and sexy, yum
3) gixer 750 k4 onwards sexy all rounder

boring list but not boring on the road (or track i should imagine)

1) GSXR 750 invented the modern sportsbike and consistently moved the goalposts.
2) GSXR1000 - ride one and next time you get off a fireblade or an R1 you will find yourself checking the HT leads to see if they are only firing on three cylinders. If you want the best stunt bike around there is still no other option that even gets half close.
3)GSXR 600.

you may notice a running theme....not that i am biased or anything.

nearly's but not quite would be the fireblade and the duc 916.

Well I dunno, so many.

But I reckon, if its best bike you own, its gotta be my ZXR400 (obviously) as its the only proper road bike I have ever owned. But I also reckon its a great little bike, and most bikers claim they had one etc etc, and its very confident inspiring, and goes very well if ridden correctly, and can out-do most bikes in twisties.

I rate the 916/996/998 as they look awesome (still) and apparently ride awesome as well. The bike was always the one i wanted when I was younger, I loved them, they was always winning, BSB and WSB, and no one could touch them, and are only now really catching them up. And styling wise, all the latest models from honda and yamaha and Kawasaki feature a under seat exhaust, which is what I will always see as first started by the 916.

And then the GSXR range, always wanted the yellow and black SRAD 750/600 when i was about 11/12, lovely bikes, bet they are awesome to ride.

916 may have changed superbikes, but the gsxr750 hypersports invented the race rep. and it was affordable to buy and service ;)
