Is the engine really that bad at the moment? Trouble with having the restriction kit is that they only cut down air intake so the bike may end up running rich and clog things up. When i had my carbs done they accidentally *cough fell out cough* Wasn't going to knacker everything up again after spending that much money. TBH they didn't really stop the bike from nearly reaching top speed, just made it slower getting there.

I guess the only thing going for getting all the work done, is that you know the bike should be reliable. You could spend the money on a different bike and end up having that go wrong too.

I've spent upwards of £1000 on mine but i know i'm going to keep her, so it's worth getting her mint. Still got a way to go yet but when i look at pics of her when i 1st got her, it makes me proud of what i'm doing :D

P.S Sorry for the Furry length reply

hey bikerbird, don't worry bout the lengh, i can probably talk for britain!!!
yeah the engine is making a really bad knock from the crank, so i was advised to just get a new engine coz it'll be cheaper, and like yourself...... i'm going to strip the carbs and "cough oops a daisy where did i put them plates to!"

and true, at least i will be able to go to lincoln without worring if i'm gonna brake down.... that was one expensive weekend!!! (£500 to get to lincoln, i think i made a point to my girlfriend that i love her!) i won't go into detail but it was the newly fitted datatool system3 alarm that stalled the bike when doing 80 in the middle lane, late at night no cars, thank the lord!!!
so i have yet to get that one tested.
and yeah i'm gonna keep mine too, i love her to bits so it is worth it, post a pic of yours so i can have a better look.

and nick, 300s miles ain't much, i plan on doing the chicken run 3 with phil (speedy) so that will be a challenge for my arse!!! extra padding springs to mind! and that will be on my baby too, 4 more days until i get home then i will get some pics up of her ok.

and i was comforable in the middle lane, + if i were to use the left hand lane i'd be in and out every two minutes coz there was still SLOWER cars, but luckily there wasn't when it came to stalling!!!
and you can't tell me that you don't do 80mph
but note to self, next time it will be all A + B roads no motorways! (oh how i love my GPS system!!!)
