Clutch Bite Point!

Post by Garvey2003 »

My blade had the clutch starting to go. well it was fine when riding but if you opened up it would start to slip out high revvs.

I have changed the clutch plates but didnt change the springs. The clutch seems better but the bite point is still high.
If I install new springs would this resolve this? its not slipping now.

When you say the bite point is high, I assume you mean the position of the lever in respect to the handlebar?

Is it a cable clutch ? if it is have you got the cable adjusted correctly (at either end....) ?

If it is hydraulic have you got it bled correctly? does the lever have a span adjuster?

:D

had it on my blade, didnt need to replace springs, just the plates, should be just a case of adjusting it at the top near the lever or you can adjust it near the clutch itself, sticks out of the engine casing on the right hand side of the bike.
