May Day

Look in here for local ride outs...

Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

May Day

Post by Rookie »

Well, this is hardly local, but it's such a big event it has to warrant a thread.

There is a large group of us heading down to Hastings for the May Day run, and myself and Jon B from here will be going from the Somerset area. I thought I'd take the opportunity to invite anyone else who wants to tag along. We're looking at prospective routes and Jon thinks the A303 is a good bet; the less motorway miles the better, really.

So if anyone wants to come along, or just wants some company for the ride down, we'll be there! :)

Boxhill :P haven't been there for years ... it's THE big Sunday morning meet up that way.

Best route is A303, then head across on the A272 (nice road), then A29 (very fast straight, watch out for the camera), A24 (boring but fast dual carriageway). Watch out for police and cameras up near Boxhill, they're out to get bikes - I think they've made it a 50 limit too.

I do a trip up to Sussex once a month, takes about 3 hours (sticking to the speed limits of course  )
