ADVICE - removing original stickers...

Any General info on Mechanics based on 'all' bikes...

ADVICE - removing original stickers...

right - thinking of removing the standard stickers on the bike so want to know the best way to remove them...

figured just peel them off carefully and then clean up the adhesive with white spirit... :?:

advice please... :roll:

Best and only real way, removes the sticky stuff as well :wink:

I took my warning stickers off with a hair dryer with no problems, i think the other stickers (Suzuki, Honda, GSXR, SV) are under the laquer. I could be wrong.

heat with a hairdryer as said earlier, then dip a rag into MEK solvent rub over and peel! make sure u rinse the solvent off after
bike's gone.... roll on next stage of the masterplan!

MEK - as in Methyl Ethyl Ketone? :shock:

Fookin nasty stuff.

There must be something safer for removing left over adhesive?

Thinking about this I am sure that I have used stuff in the past which was specifically intended to remove sitcker adhesive - maybe worth a look down the local DIY store?

To be honest though if you heat them up with a hairdryer most of the adhesive normally comes off with the sticker and all that's needed is a quick polish.

ah mate dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your bike looks the dogs dangilies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i had laquar on mine ane they would not shift with a INDUSTRIAL HEAT GUN i had to pick it off with a stanley blade and you do about an inch and then you stand back and look at it and think why why why and then cry!!!!
AGAIN DONT DO IT YOUR BIKE IS TOP NOTCH MAN!!!!!!!!!!

i am only thinking about the big suzuki sign on the fairing and the tail piece... thinking...thinking - about some different stickers and number boards...hmmm...

but i am not taking off the inherently gixer stripes... :P

yikes.. I thought you where talking about the safety stickers on the chainguard/swingarm/ frame/ air scoops and tank (in fact on a suzook they are all over the bloody thing from new).... but Id imagine getting fairing stickers off will be a whole different kettle of fish...

it's not that bad, but make sure u wear nitrile gloves and a carbon mask as it makes u depressed

There is a small bottle called Sticky Remover, sold by those lovely people who leave booklets on your door each week, either kleeneze or the other one, I have some here, not much cop thou to be honest.
