yup I can only think of a couple that spring straight to mindandrew wrote: good knee down bends are very few and far between.
...the deep lane from plympton entrance onto the A38 north bound.
Im sure this is the easiest bend in the world to scrape a slider on if its clear.
probably only marred by the Armco if you fall off.
Also there is a left hand bend a little way after trago mills liskeard heading into cornwall. its on the crest of a slight hill and it goes form single lane out into two for the duration of the corner. Once again a fine example of a knee down corner mainly because you have so much room and line of sight.
I have not scraped a slider since the last time i wore leathers which is probably about 2 years ago now.
Its a strangely satisfying pastime although it s doesnt have the grin/stupidity factor of a decent wheelie.
How about some pics of everyones f ucked sliders? Im sure I have a couple of pairs in the cuboard somewhere.
Where a biker died a few years ago, although she was actually on her test so probably not trying to get a knee down.jason wrote: ...the deep lane from plympton entrance onto the A38 north bound.

Someone also died on the other side slip road after hitting the armco/bridge pillar, so maybe not such a good place to practise.
Sigs are for poseurs and wimps
I would imagine she probably died on the exit pulling out into something? Very unlikely that she died in the corner itself.clunk wrote:

the slip straightens up for long enough on the end of that corner that you can slow right down before you pull onto the A38 plenty of time to scan the traffic your about to merge with.
*disclaimer* I am not recommending that people use that corner to practise on !!! ....but once you have it sussed it is a very easy place to scrape.

she was killed on the bend, she hit the armco under the bridge itself still in the filter lane before she got to the road.jason wrote:I would imagine she probably died on the exit pulling out into something? Very unlikely that she died in the corner itself.clunk wrote:

As i understood it the lady that died on her test was joining the A38 going Southbound not northbound (there are always flowers there). This is not a good place as it can be quite splippery and the camber isn't ideal. The Northbound side Jason is talking about is much better.
Its also worth noting that getting your knee down on public roads is dangerous and is not advisable, especially for less experienced riders. Everyone would be much better off waiting for the Llandow trackday.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
Got my knee down on the totnes/newton road a couple of times (not sure of its name, possibly the A381?) Im sure none of you will believe me when you see how narrow the tyres are on my bike.
http://www.fantasiesonwheels.com/images ... 20drag.htm thats a pretty good site for advice.
It just takes a bit of stupid confidence, I dont think I would do it again, far to dangerous on public roads.
