your complaining about getting fined for going out intentionally to get an illegal plate on your bike and you cry when getting done for it????
its like when the police pulled me over for speeding,i didn't ask why they pulled me over?
And didn't put up a thread moaning when the copper did me for no plate....didn't cry when i got done for no tax...twice....Deffo didn't complain getting let off 45 in a 30 when i was 17.
Even tho we all know that 80% of traffic coppers are muppets and were bullied at school..........we cant complain when they do us for sumin illegal on our bikes.
so simple.......
I love Lamp.

Jewell, of course (in this instance
) you are right, and I am sure Pedro is not complaining about the fact that that he was stopped per se, but that in the overall scheme of things, with folks out there on bikes with little or no silencing
, bald tyres (saw several
), wearing just shorts & T shirts
, dubious crash helmets, etc., stopping someone for a slightly small number plate on an otherwise perfect motorcycle seems a little shallow, and rather than show the police to be doing their best to reduce inappropriate behaviour / encourage responsible behaviour, re-inforces the belief that all their actions are for one purpose really - revenue earning

Like, whilst I'm not really one to complain about the police when they're well and trully assisting the community, I do hate it when they're having a slow and boring day - and start nit-picking!
Like, on the day of Sniffy's BBQ pub meet (Which was a rather awesome evening...) me and Jace turned up really early so decided to go for a small ride (When Jace took a wrong turning leading up the A38 to Oakhampton), when we arrived in Oakhampton we were just going through to look for a petrol station, and the police drove past on the opposite side of the road and shouted to Jace to pull over! So Jace did, obviously I pulled up next to him as I had no-one else to play with. Now, as most of you know Jace has a CBR125R, which is in the Red/Black scheme, he had a red 'L' plate stuck to his front fender, which had a THICH white outline - to which the policeman says its too small! He was a short, ugly, nerdy looking guy who seemed bored, and when Jace started getting 'Jippy' (Bless 'im...) the policeman started getting defensive (Tip-toed and all!). In the end Jace shut up and got away with an instruction to sort it out, as the policeman walks away Jace puts his key into the ignition chamber, where I mutter under my breath "Jace, how 'legal' is that exhaust!? Wait until he drives off!" Haha, oh happy days...
Yeah, moral of the story - a bored policeman is an ass.
I wish we threw him on the BBQ... roasted pork mmm...
Just... just call me Danny!

So next time you see em on the Hardley Ableson think i helped to buy that for em with my taxes etc.

Also please tell as wasn't there yesterday, paper clipping said ready to following the king, was he dressed as Elvis
"RIDERS READY TO FOLLOW THE ROAD KING
11:00 - 17 June 2006
It is recognised across the world as an icon of the American experience - but now police in Devon and Cornwall use this bike to help promote road safety. Made famous by the Marlon Brando movie Wild Ones, the constabulary's new Harley Davidson is due to lead a procession of around 8,000 motorcyclists at the annual Plymouth Megaride tomorrow.
Regarded as a symbol of freedom and adventure, the bike will be used for the first time for traffic policing and to help promote safety in the biking community. The force is one of six trialling the Harley Davidson Road King 1510cc motorcycle.
Inspector Robin Derges, head of the force's motorcycle wing, said: "The Harley Davidson has been beneficial in helping us engage the public, as it is an impressive machine and generates a lot of interest. One per cent of the road-using population in this country are motorcyclists, but a third of all fatal crashes consist of this group, so it is vital that we make them aware of the potential dangers on the road."
The charity Megaride will see bikers riding in convoy along the A38 from Lee Mill to the Hoe. The ride is scheduled to begin at Lee Mill Industrial Estate at 10am. On the Hoe there will be motorcycle trade stands, clothing stalls, tattooists and training schools. Live bands Morph, The Accused and The Makeouts will play.
Police will have mobile speed cameras on the A38, both east and westbound, and the A386, the main routes into the city, to act as a deterrent to speeders and ensure bikers' safety."

You will not get point for being caught again with small plate. A good copper advised me the other day that best way is no plate at all. £30 non endorasable offence.
BTW I have a standard size plate on my bike currently.

yup whoever said its now points and a £60 fine is mistaken. its still just a £30 quid fine.CvPiper wrote:You will not get point for being caught again with small plate. A good copper advised me the other day that best way is no plate at all. £30 non endorasable offence.

and the copper saying 2nd time and they will take you to go court thats just bullshit to scare you into getting a billboard. Any copper who started dragging people through the court system just for an undersized plate is more than likely to get disciplined for wasting time, money and unnecassarily clogging up the court system.
I bet I have had more small plate fines than anyone on the forum, I have had loads of them, the £30 pound fine don't bother me its not exactly much money - dealing with coppers spouting the same old crap gets a bit monotonous mind.
As for the hardley ableson police motorcycle - I can see its worth as a PR tool for the police.

wankars wasting money on a harley to show off 'we are biker friendly' down here - what a load of bullshit and a waste of money...
you dont like us - we dont like you... we can all live with that, its the way its always been.
spend the money on something worthwhile or give it to the council to sort out the sh!t state of our roads down here.

gee isn't that nice of them. If i had been told sooner that as a motorcyclist having a speed camera ensured my saftey i'd have fitted one on top of my helmet years agocinderella wrote:
