if its a static test and you have pre-warning ,warm your engine up as much as possible before u got for a test, hot bikes a considerably more quiet, could mean the difference of a pass and a fail, if u get your own tester find out how each track is tested, because it is different track to track, for a static test its usually about a meter behind the exhaust a around 6krpm
gl at cadwell, will have to be a trackday for next year now as we are finishing our "season" in october

What is the measuring standard...?
Rolling past at 30, 40, 50mph in 1st, 2nd or which..?
or measured static at 1m from rear... but at what RPM..?
Take measurement in dB with Frequency analysis, in 1/3rd octave..?
or measure in dB(A)..?
Recorded with a Type 1, 2 or 3 Sound Level Meter..?
Note! Double 90dB = 93dB, double 93dB = 96dB and so-on. A type 3 SLM has accuracy of about +/- 3dB.
So much to consider long before you even take the readings.

well the noise testing system at donington cost 500,000 quid as its linked to the council.
the ride by meter is close to the pit wall so also has a small amount of echo to contend with
static testing at circuits that follow fim rules say its 45degress and 2foot from the end of the exhaust and different engine configurations than have to rev the bike to a set limit,ie 600cc il4 is 7000rpm and thats where they take the reading from

Looks like haynesvfr750's "quickie" check is pointless if they're going to throw so much expensive gear at the subject
Makes my £3k noise kit very insignificant - think I'll return to Gynocology

again
