Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Cobweb ride re run Sat 21st March

Post by Red5 »

Right,

Think we've all had enough of this naff wet and windy weather now so we are re running the 2020 cob web ride out.

Sat 21st March.

I'll post up the route, similar to the original, with a few minor tweaks.

Meet at Tiverton McDonalds around 0830hrs, ready fuelled etc to set off at 0900hrs

Finishing at Bridge about 1400hrs where we can indulge in cake and coffee :p :D :-bd
https://www.bridgemotorcycles.com/pages/contact/find-us

This is run as a Friendly ride so it is learner friendly, no motorways and in this case any dual carriage ways as well. Speed limits adhered to, we use the drop off system with a Tail End Charlie (TEC)

viewtopic.php?f=94&t=89587

Friendly Ride
One big ride out, for ALL abilities, any bike over 125cc, pillions, newbies, born agains etc etc. Normally I lead the run and ride at posted speed limits throughout the day. Everyone gets stuck in and takes part in junction marking, don't panic if you haven't done it before, it'll be explained on the day.We use riders for the junctions so that nobody(we normally get between 20 and 50 bikes) in theory gets lost. There will also be a hi viz wearing rider at the back of the group (TEC) who is at the back all day. Anyone on a 125cc has the option to stay with the lead rider and not be a junction marker. PLEASE REMEMBER, AS EVERY JUNCTION WILL BE MARKED, THERE IS NO NEED TO RIDE OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE, YOU WON'T BE LEFT BEHIND.
Route posted up on site.

Any questions please ask away, PM or open questions but honestly, it's so simple even I understand it. All will be explained on the day if anyone's unsure.

Think that's about it for now. Catch y'all soon.

A few minor alterations to the previous plan though the main points are the same.
138 miles.

This will be learner friendly and legal ride out with a Tail End Charlie and drop off system.
Again, please just ask away if unsure. I've posted up a guide at the start of this thread. Might sound complicated but it's such a simple system. Whilst we can't say never, it very rarely loses anyone :erm: O:-)
