You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.
Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Re: Ride Out Sunday 12th September Exeter > Minehead > Barnstaple > Exeter
Was out that way yesterday.
Big chunk of the A396 (Bridgetown upwards) is closed for road works so you'll have to divert.
Also.. so many cars were half on my side of the road on the corners, never really noticed that on that stretch before but yesterday every other car was either cutting the corner or running wide on to my side.

Wow did not know that and Google maps had not picked that up when I was planning the route thanks for the heads up.
With this in mind I will plan a new route and post it as don’t want to muck about with diversions.

That shows the route I took following the diversion, not sure how much of the A396 is actually closed but the diversion route was boring.
Could just go west to Dulverton from that point, and then carry on up the B3223... but that road is as rough as a rough thing, if it gets any worse you'll need nobblies.

Thanks for the feedback. I think its time to make a change. going to post a totally different route as this does not sound like its working. Thanks so much for the feedback better that we know about this today rather then at the weekend and trying to change on the fly.

ROUTE CHANGE!!
START TIME CHANGE!!
Ok people following the feedback recieved on this thread and also through PM messages I am going to change the route and the start time
Starting at McDonalds in Marsh Barton still but leaving at 8AM so you have a bit more of a lie in
Will now take a different route leading us up to Barnstaple for a stop in the BP service station where we can fuel up and grab a coffee and will then come back again.

Re: Ride Out Sunday 12th September Exeter > Barnstaple > Exeter
Sorry had to leave you guys. Hit a pot hole at bottom of a hill when suspension already working hard. Bloody hurt like hell, jarred right up through my spine, tried to carry on but riding went all to bollocks coz I was thinking more about hurting than riding, never a good idea. Anyway hope you have a good one and huge thanks to Rob for putting it on. Nice to meet Darren hope he comes with us again. Hope to see you all soon.
