If the holes not to big have you thought about using liquid metal and a piece of mesh.

If its a rust hole welding it could be a no no as the metal around the hole could be fatigued also.
You can get the liquid metal from K Coopers or hardware stores. Cant remember the name without going to my shed. I have used it and it works really well. its also heat resistant. :D
Comes in 2 tubes, 1 black, 1 red.

It's easy to do mate, remove the whole system take it to any exhaust repair place and they should be able to weld new stainless steal collectors on for about £20.

I took it to this place in Willand, Did a perfect job. Haynes Manual have a good step by step guide how to remove it, As long as you bolts arent corroded and round off it's easy.

Just go to powerflow in taunton, it will cost fcuk all to repair, especially if you can have it off the bike to take into them.

My Dad is a welder/steel fabricator/structural steel engineer. :D . I just had him patch up two holes in my downpipes at work, no more blowing!

You could hire a welder, buy some thin sheet metal, and a book from the libary and do it yourself 8) .
