Biker down..........ME

Post by clunk »

Well its been 18 years since my last off ( although I wasn't riding for 8 of them ) and it happened yesterday on my way home from work.

Luckily I wasn't on the ZRX, but Ali's Jialing 125.

I had just taken a sneeky short cut through Plymbridge and was approaching the Crossways junction. The road here is a bit muddy and dusty due to lorries going to the new golf course. I had just thought to myself "take it easy on the bend as the road looks slippery", then I lost the front and hit the deck.

Luckily only damage to me was a bang on the knee. My kit was ok, didn't even tear or scuff my clothing, but the helmet hit the deck and is a bit scuffed on one side. I'll have to get a new one :D

Damage to bike was only a broken mirror and scuffed indicator, bar end, clutch lever. It stood up to it really well.

Knee wasn't even bad enough for me to be off work today, and I was able to take the car in, but back on the bike tomorrow.

At least I got my knee down.............followed by the rest of me

 At least your ok mate

Just FYI, Hein Gericke have a 1/2 price offer on the mid/high range Shark's, got a new one yesterday after my AGV got fcuked. The comfort is great, and the visor fittign system is so cool.

Its also got vents that are easy to open/close and matched my leaters ;)

Keep it upright - this time of year my GSXR is going to bed for 6 months :(

Thanks for the comments guys.

Speedy, I already have a female site member standing by to administer any healing kisses, so you can stand down

CvPiper, was it a Shark RSX lid ? Just looking on the net and a few places are selling them half price. Will pop down to HG next week.

Although it was only a small off, it still makes you think about the gear you wear and is it up to the job. Luckily I was wearing full textile kit with knee, elbow and shoulder pads.
I often ride to work in jeans, textile jacket, boots etc. In future I think I'll always wear the textile trousers over my jeans.
