Possible missing part on carb mounting.

Post by GrimmRiffer »

Put the KLX's carb back in now it's back from its rebuild and all's good, 'cept it don't fire up after lots of kicking. Then I thought of summit I half noticed putting it together. Where the carb slots into the airbox there's a jubilee style clip to seal it. Where the carb slots into the rubber intake on the motor there *ain't* a jubilee style clip... :? I'm thinking there might be s'posed to be? In reality this prob'ly wouldn't even matter. Strictly it should be there to stop air getting drawn in after the carb and making the mix super lean.

That could even stop it starting...

Wha' does thee ken?

I dun nay keen a lot, but it depends if the carb-to-intake is a tight fit or not. If its not tight then it should have a jubilee clip os similar, but I don't think that would affect the starting too much.

Are you getting a spark at the plug ?

u should have a clip for both the airbox and engine connections. This could stop it from starting, especially if its a loose fit and when the engines cold.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
